Here's an idea if you buy this t-shirt. Learn to say "hello" in at least three languages (other than English). The most spoken in the world are Mandarin Chinese, Spanish and Hindi, as examples. If someone responds in one of the languages you learned (for just "hello"), you could respond with "That's the only word I know in [name of language]; do you speak it fluently?" If you don't recognize the language, you could respond with "Which language is that?" Either way, that could be the start of a wonderful conversation.
Sizes run on the tight side for men. If you are unsure between two sizes, choose the larger one.
